Foundation President receives Honorary Service Award

Alan Cyron, MVLA Foundation's President, was honored at the LAMV PTA Council Annual Luncheon on May 14th for his service to local youth through his volunteer activities on the MVLA High School Foundation board, MVLA High School District's 2010 Measure A Bond Oversight Committee Member and Chair, Los Altos Educational Foundation (LAEF) board member and CFO, Citizens Advisory Committee for Finance (CACF) and Committee Chair for Boy Scout Troop 33 in Los Altos.

Marilyn Stanley, who presented the Honorary Service Awards, said "Perhaps one of Alan's biggest impacts on the community is in raising funds for the local schools. Both LAEF and MVLA education foundations reached record fundraising goals during Alan's tenure, which is no coincidence. In each of these volunteer community positions, Alan brings leadership, compassion, wisdom and a sense of humor. He also brings the ability to raise or address tough issues when necessary, and to inspire those around him with his insight and knowledge."

MVLA Superintendent Jeff Harding added "Alan is a steadfast advocate for our students. His strong leadership skills bring people together to work toward a common goal. We need more leaders like Alan Cyron in our schools!"
